Chitwan was amazing! When we set off, six girls and mummy frenchy it was pouring down with rain! We were gutted! When we finally got there 6 hours later the rain was still going. We were met by the jeep, I say this in the losest sense as it was a rusty tin bucket with a plastic sheet that they called a roof! We were soaked but in high spirts by the time we arrived. After freshening up we went on a tour of the village
which was interesting, we saw the local houses which the guide proudly said were made from mud and buffalo s***!
After that we headed back to the hotel via the sunset view point (there was no sunset due to the clouds!) After that thou our luck dramatically changed! When we woke up the next day the sky was bright blue! We statred the day with a caonoe ride in crocidile infested water. They take you so close to the crocs its well scary whilst
educating you that this type of crocidile is the second most visious! Nice! Then approx 5 meters down from where we saw the last croc the canoe pulls up and we begin our jungle walk! Scary stuff; you get a big talk on what to do when different animals attack
Ie, if a Rhino attacks run in zig zags!!!!! and If you see a sloth bear scream loudly as this may sacre it off?!! It was well sacry, you could see Tiger foot prints in the mud, I felt quite pleased that the only thing we saw was a Wild Chicken! Ha ha! After this we went to Elephant bathtime. This is when all the elephants come down to the river (just down stream from the crocs, but its safe as the crocs are afraid of the elephants) and you can swim with them, clean them, and ride on them. They splash you like mad with the water, and sprey you with their trunks. To get on the elephant it lowers its trunk and you step on it and it lifts you up! There so strong, its unbelieveable!
As if thats not enough excitement after dinner we went on the elephant safair, where you ride the elephants in the heart of the jungle and look at the wild animals, we only saw Rhinos and Monkeys but it was lovley just to be plodding around on Nelly.
The evenings entertainment was soooo funny! The presenter was Borat! No lie, looks and voice was identical! I laughed so hard! There was a stick dance and a peacock dance ( A man dressed as a peacock ) and the best was the Lady boy dance, where the most annoyed looking lad dressed up and a women and prances about! LOL!
The next day before heading back was spent at an elephant breading scantuary, were there were baby elephants! They were so cute, we bought cookies and feed them they were so gready and so strong! I had to move quite quick when one charged at me as I was out of cookies!
Amazing weekend, anyone in Nepal reading this you most go to chitwan!!
Lots of Kisses
