Well, despite preparing so poorly for my 4 day trek I had a fantastic time - climbing to an altitude of 4750m amongst snow capped mountains and glaciers - awe inspiring.  Had an excellent group and very lucky with weather- tended to rain once we´d reached camp. Extremely cold at night - slept sporadically wearing 4 layers including thermal top plus beanie hat!Quite lucky don´t spend too much time at altitude because my appetite was huge - had man...

Eventually arrived in Huaraz yesterday at 6am! Not bad journey - beautiful to be here - snow capped mountains in the distance & laid back atmosphere.  Managed a couple of hours sleep on arrival prior to breakfast where met a few english people so ended up staying put for the day eating and chatting -really good bunch and an ideal sunday.PLan to head off trekking at some point so will keep you posted lots love jenxxx

I have over 4 hours to kill so thought an interesting bus  journey postcard would help! Spent last night on a bus over the border - really odd walking across the border at 3am, so now in Peru.  Then caught next bus at 8am after arriving at 6.15, then a 3rd at midday arriving here in Trujillo at 3.30pm to book my next night bus for 9pm tonight- and yes, i am feeling grubby and in nned of a shower and a bed!Destination is Huaraz  - meant to be beauti...

Just to let you all know that I have in Lima! Arrived last night at 7pm, 2am english time rather exhausted and a wee bit daunted- the excitment on the journey was being upgraded to business class which was brillliant. Lovely because met a fellow solo traveller at the lodge called Amanda so we spent the day wandering around Lima.
