Well, despite preparing so poorly for my 4 day trek I had a fantastic time - climbing to an altitude of 4750m amongst snow capped mountains and glaciers - awe inspiring.  Had an excellent group and very lucky with weather- tended to rain once we´d reached camp. Extremely cold at night - slept sporadically wearing 4 layers including thermal top plus beanie hat!

Quite lucky don´t spend too much time at altitude because my appetite was huge - had managed to finish all snacks by mid morning! PLan now is to head down south to oasis town of Huacachina to do a bit of sand boarding! Amazing to go from snow capped mountains to sand dunes in a day...
