Hello there, i really am rubbish at this sorry!! We hacve done quite a lot of travelling over the last few days, am feeling quite tired but definitely wouldnt change anything!!

After Krabi we went to Penang, leaving Thailand and entering Malaysia- new money, more humid and more of a mix of religions. It was the first British colony so its quite odd being a mix of asian and then some really englisgh buildings. We had a nice hotel in the chinatown area and whilst we were there we had a wander round, went to a colonial museum, up a lighthouse, and up penang hill on a 1922 cablecar- much cooler up there (about 1700m high) and lots of old british holiday homes. Did a rainforest canopy walk on swinging rope bridges- terrifying but interesting all the same! Had a good night out that night- a random club where women drink free with a live band. After 2 nights in penang we moved to the cameron highlands- high up so much cooler and it even rained!! grr. Stayed in a british/swiss lodge thing, very pretty. Whilst we were there we went to a butterfly farm, a strawberry farm and a tea plantation and had some very yummy tea- is a bit like home!!

Next it was off to Kuala Lumpur on a 8 hour coach journey from hell through some very narrow and twisty roads- then the breaks got jammed on - soooo scary. We got to the nearest town where they didnt seem to have seen white people before and waited 3 hours for another coach..eventually got here last night at about 9pm-exhausted but excited as looks a very cosmopolitan city- a bit different to what we have been used to!

This morning had an early start and had a trip for about 6 pounds that took us to the national monument, national mosque where we had to wear floor lenght purple robes, a massive cave with wild monkeys, a pewter factory, the menara towera and then the petronas towers!! Bargain. This afternoon we went to a massive shopping centre which was quite exciting to see real civilisation- had a maccys and bought something from topshop! Going out tonight for something to eat, getting a bit sad that our tour finishes so soon- will be sad to leave everyone in our group. I think the next time I write will be in Oz, we fly there on thursday..i think! Hope youre all well and im not boring you too much- this is the extremely condensed version!! Take care, love jem xxxx
