Hello..... welcome to our world down at 47 Gourlay Street. Like any good aussie soap there's been a good bit of drama recently in between the mundane routine of working, sleeping and....more working. We were going to start one of our only mornings off with a nice relaxing breakfast (we're always rushing at the moment, even when we allow ourselves plenty of time), only to end up almost flooding the kitchen! We couldn't turn the tap off, water was gushing out (and we mean gushing), the sink was filling and flowing over, Jo was chucking saucepan after saucepan of water out of the window whilst Bridge was desperatly trying to turn the tap off with a spanner, no luck, where's the stop tap?! No stop tap inside!ahhhhh! Water flooding everywhere, Josie slips on her bum (the bruise will be a corker), we try calling our house mate to get hold of the landlord about the stop tap, no luck! In the end clad in her pyjamas and sporting a very sexy just got out of bed look Bridge runs onto the street and drags some poor guy to our rescue. Poor man confronted with two bedragged, soaked girls and buckets and buckets of water. Thankfully for us and the guy he manages to find the stoptap and turn it off just before Jo is about to chuck a very full saucepan of water out of the window and on to him.
Besides floods (well in our house anyway, the rest of Melbourne is on a water restriction), there's been 100km/ph winds, chairs were flying left, right and centre, branches nearly taking people out and an outdoor heater (a huge thing) got swept into the side of car, Jo had to run to the rescue, grab hold of it, whilst battling against the gushing winds, preventing it from toppling on top of the car and doing some expensive damage. Great day forflying your kite if you fancy a free trip to the otherside of the world-what was that song from Mary Poppins up, up and away!
In between working, we've managed to fit in a couple of nights out, a night at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow dancing our socks of in a small sweaty pub (think Ocean styley and you've got the scene set) to a live band (which were actually quite good). Jo and a couple of girls from work went out the other night after work, well nearly went out, on the way out they got distracted by a shop selling big bottles ofBaileys andtubs of icecream(that only spells one thing- yes Baileys milkshakes!), so ladened with the goods and a bottle of wine they decide to head to the warmth of Eliane's flat. Also we've become regulars of free sunday night comedy, some of the acts are really good, it's a nice atmosphere and good to have a good old giggle-although admitedly most of the topics of the comedy seem to revolve around taking the mick out of the countries that people are from and sex (we make sure we cover my ears nan).
Well we've got our GT fixed and we've decided that before we have to dish out money to the Australian Health service for treatment of Hypothermia we've decided to pack up, wave goodbye to our jobs and St Kilda and head off to the sunshine-bikini's here we come! Before we make our way up along the East coast we're going to check out an AFL game, pay a visit to Ramsey Street (Bridgey, bless, is desperate to meet some of the cast-she should just come to Mikoshi, some of them are regulars there, seemingly Orlando Bloom has popped in before Kate) and meander alongthe rest of the Great Ocean Road tosee the Twelve Apostles.
So next update we'll be telling you about our beautiful tans and red hot surfing lovers (don't worry Mike Jo's only dreaming). Take care and remember becareful especially where taps are concerned.
Love Jos and Bridge
