Now, this was a fun day! After a gentle start we made our way on the hotel minibus to the town of Vic Falls. Plan A was to strike a few bargains before another appointment in the afternoon and yet another in the evening. We made our way down the main street at quite a liesurely pace and then the shopping started!
First bargain was James with some batik wall hangings, quickly followed by Diane with a huge hanging and Liz with her first and very successful try bartering for some souvenirs and gifts.
A stroll through the VF version of Bluewater, a tiny shopping centre called the Elephant Centre, we found the open market and the bargaining really began - even Edward was into it, snapping up his own river talking stick having knocked the guy down from 25 to 8USD.
James and Diane convinced one trader to sell them 3 bowls originally priced at 300 rand each for 200 rand in total, James asusual bought a couple of masks and Liz snapped up even more purchases with her now highly practised technique (not sure it will work in Hobbs)!
Shopping done, it was time to move on...
