Craig & Jean go round the world!
Jean here! Greetings from Tokyo. We got here at 905 today Monday 20th September - need to keep reminding ourselves which time zone we're in! Luckily we've done the worst of the time-shifts: from now on we're gradually working our way back west.
Meanwhile, Craig is in his bed recovering and I'm just about to have a couple of hours sleep too.
We were met at Narita airport by a charming and very helpful travel rep, who saw us settled into our hotel. It has spectacular views of the city. We'll try taking photos of the view tonight when we go out to the mall down the road to eat.
By the way, if you're wondering how our Japanese is holding up. It isn't - and a lot of the hotel staff don't have English but we'll muddle through!

Debbie Valentine Morning Jean & Craig, Can't believe that's you in Tokyo already seems like you only left yesterday haha. Glad you had a safe trip & look forward to seeing the pictures from Tokyo (looks an amazing city). Enjoy Toyko x
muriel mcdougall Hi, Good Afternoon to you both. Hope you feel better after a little sleep and not too jet lagged. I have e-mailed you as well Jean. Can't believe you are now in the Far East. Sure it will be fantastic. Can't wait to see the photographs. Take care and it was good talking to you on Saturday Craig and hearing it all. Sounds as if it has been "Out of this World" so far and there is so much still to go. Love Muriel and Al
Jean Nisbet 32 degrees - 32!!!!! Hotter here than in New Delhi or Hong Kong! We're just back from a tour of Tokyo, a lot of it on foot! Craig has gone off to (a) cool down (b) learn some Japanese after an exciting afternoon trying to order lunch and find our way round the metro (so successful we ended up getting a taxi) (c) do a wee workout - in this heat!? - and (d) do a bit of music. Moi? I'm going to watch Japanese telly till I fall asleep - should only take about 5 minutes.....
Leanne Murphy Ohaiyogozaimasu to both of you (For the typical tourist, this means Good morning!!!) I'm not even there and I can speak the language. Get it up you!!!! :-) Your photographs are lovely and we have enjoyed looking at them all but what I cannot understand is why the constant photographs of buildings. We get it, they are big but you don't need to go on about it. Anyway your lawyer is extremely busy dealing with constant abuse so I will have to go. Sayonara. xxxxxxx
muriel mcdougall Hi you two must be melting!!! It's pretty hot in Tokyo for doing the tourist bit on foot. Hope you enjoy it even if it is a struggle with the language though can't see Craig managing to find a Jazz or Rock Club there unless his phrase book can help him!! Look forward to seeing the pictures of Tokyo though, they will be fab. Please excuse Leanne's comments. That's Lawyers for you!!!! Muriel and Al
Leanne Murphy Because of Muriel undermining my authority, she will now go down to 2 days a week as she is constantly on the internet writing blogs when she should be working. Who does she think she is Nancy Drew? For the kids at Ochiltree, there's a question for you, who is Nancy Drew? As always love from your Lawyer. xxxxxxxx
Leanne Murphy Hello again folks. Just an update on my inept secretary. As a result of your international phone call during OFFICE HOURS Muriel can now join you on your travels, effective immediately. Her excuse was it was her lunch hour. Ps. When you get to Dehli, tell Team Scotland to stop being so snobby and live in the accomodation provided. What is their problem, it's just like Glasgow!!!! You may be interested to know that it is currently 13 degrees celcius back here and we have the heating on. Roasty toasty. Snow is forecast for Saturday, wouldn't surprise me, I swear I saw an eskimo yesterday. The tights brigade are out in force and mittens have made a big comeback. Cheers, have a drink on us and all the best. Hugs and Kisses Sayonara xxxxxx
