Hannah's grandparents invited us to their home about 20 minutes outside of Karlskoga for the day, so we headed out there around noon after shopping in the downtown area a bit. They have a beautiful old home in the countryside which they gave us a tour of before we went out for a picnic in the woods nearby. Just down the road from there was a national heritage site where they have plays and concerts in the summer. We looked inside the 18th century farmhouse on the property and dipped our feet in the creek. Then we all drove to their community center where Hannah's grandma teaches weaving classes and visited the church where Hannah's parents were married. Our next stop was the home of their friends Bo and Ulla who graciously invited us inside for coffee and sweets. Even though they're both into their 70's, they take care of over 100 livestock by themselves. They were the sweetest couple and Bo kept refilling me and my mom's glasses with port, saying that you're old enough to drink once you can walk. We had such a great time there and I even played piano for them before we left (it feels like it's been so long, I'm starting to forget how to!). We returned to Hannah's grandparent's and had an incredible dinner. I was even daring enough to try a typical Swedish dish of potatoes and pickled herring. I told them all about my trip and they told me to contact their sons in Bergen, Norway and Göteborg, Sweden and I'll surely have a place to stay. We had another round of coffee and desserts (I never drink coffee but I've been having 3 cups a day since I've been in Sweden!) and then it was time to go, but not before they welcomed us back anytime. We returned to David's, watched a movie, talked to my sister Jessica on the phone and then called it a night!
