We started the day early and had breakfast at Hannah's before catching a train from Uppsala to Stockholm (I got to use my Eurail Pass for the first time today!). Hannah and David took us to the part of the city called Old Town. We spent some time just strolling through the streets, windowshopping and snapping pictures of the buildings. Stockholm is built on 14 islands, so everywhere you go you can find water. The part of the city we were in was beautiful and surprisingly enough we had the warmest weather of our trip today (about 85 F). And we were expecting Sweden to be the coldest place we visited! We made our way along the water until we came to the Royal Palace just in time to see the Changing of the Guard. We escaped from the large crowd filling the palace courtyard and walked to an international food festival that was happening nearby. Most of the booths were serving smaller sample size dishes so we got to try a couple different ones, like thai peanut chicken kebabs and this dish Hannah got with wild pig. Next we took a peek inside the Grand Hotel nearby before catching a 2 hour boat sightseeing tour. It took us all around the different islands and we learned a lot about the history of Stockholm. Seeing the city from the water was incredible and I would recommend it to anyone that visits here. Afterwards we decided to call it a day, so we caught the next train back to Uppsala. We had dinner at Hannah's favorite sushi place and then went back to her house. We ended the night by showing each other pictures of what we've been up to the past few years and I tried to catch up on uploading all the pictures I've been taking so you guys can see them!
