Hello all! Eventful week this week. on wed we went to the genocide museum and the killing fields in phnom penh which was very emotional for everyone. our guide was very graphic but very informative...sometimes you need to get the full picture for the message to get through, no matter how upset it makes you. that night our guide invited us to his home where his wife provided a huge and fantastic meal for us all..including tarantula which both laura and i tried!!!! not something I'll be doing again but it was an experience. The next day we travelled to sihanoukville which is more of a beachy type resort and we stayed in lovely beachside huts. however the weather was not on our side and it rained for most of the time we were there but we still had a lot of fun. we had a bbq tea on the beach and had lots of cocktails to drink which led to a very fun night! the next day was spent doing not an awful lot as it was still raining and some of us were feeling worse for wear haha. the next day again was a travel day to chau doc in vietnam and once we arrived we jumped on motorbikes for a ride up Sam Mountain to say our final fairwells to cambodia (views were lovely). We are now in Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh and have just had a ride around the town to look at a few sights. our day is free tomorrow so we are going to the cu chi tunnels which I think will be interesting and then tomorrow night we jump on an overnight train to take us to Nha Trang. Will be back to update you again in a few days. having such an amazing time and i know we willl be sad to leave the group but we have got so much info and advice from everyone I'm definitely feeling more confident about us going off on our own! love you all hope you are well xxx
