Going to the beach yesterday was so rejuvinating! City life can be kind of dull but the beaches here are incredible. We drove through the mountains to get to the coast and Costa Rica has some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen.

The first beach we went to was called Playa Jaco. It was nice but there wasn't really any sand, it was just all rock. It was beautiful in its own way though. We watched a huge pack of pelicans for a while, which was pretty interesting. We also saw crocodiles from the bus window on the way to the beach. I didn't get a picture though because we drove by too fast. :(

The second beach we went to was really nice. It's called Playa Hermosa which in english means Beautiful Beach. The sand was really soft, but almost black. The waves were strong enough to be fun but not too strong to be dangerous. I laid on the beach all day. I only got up to play in the water and to get an all natural blackberry smoothie. Also, it was about 90 degrees while we were there. :)

Coming back from the beach was really cool too because we got to see the mountains during sunset. I took pictures but none could do it justice.

When I got home Carlos was so happy to see me that he didn't leave me alone for a good two hours. He is happy as a clam in his new home and getting fatter and fatter everyday.
