Hi everyone we've only just set up this website so the blogging will start from now eventhough we've have been away for around 11 weeks already.

After an expedition of a journey from Penang, Malaysia that took 14 hours, 8 different buses, a ferry and then a lift from a nice Thai lady's andher son that we met on the bus to our guesthouse, we arrived in Ko Samui 4 days ago.

After all you hear about the island being very "touristy" we were surprised at how nice it is. The main town area of Chaweng Beach is a long strip of bars, shops, massage parlours (!) and restaurants about 3 miles in length but it does mean there is plenty to do in the evening, which in our case has been frequenting the bars!!! We were surprised at how many "girly bars" there are and Jay gets a bit scared when we go past them, ha ha bless him- they're not backwards and coming forwards even if you are with your girlfriend. But it is all quite funny and the girls are harmless really.

In the four days we've been here, we had two massive nights out on Chang Beer, two days nursing hangovers and a day on the beach. We have now vowed to go tee total so we can actually get out and see some stuff, ha ha!!

The beach is really nice but there are sea lice around at the moment due to it being so hot. They don't harm you but give you a nip that feels a bit like a small jely fish sting.

We plan on doing a kayak tour around the national marine park, a trip around the island and maybe tree canopy adventure but we'll update as and when we get off our arses and do them!!
