Sorry not blogged for a while!!! You may have noticed that we've not taken any photos of our week in Ko Samui and this is due to the fact that other than drinking and sunbathing, we didnt really do anything in the week we spent there. Emma's brother will be meeting us there in a few weeks so we've save our sightseeing, kayaking, snorkelling etc til then.
After Ko Samui we had an 18 hour journey to get to Bangkok, bus - boat - bus, it wasn't too bad as the bus had comfy reclining seats and a dvd player.
We arrived in Bangkok at 5.45am, found a hotel and went back to bed and then went out that evening til nearly 5am!!!! In the few days we spent there we visited the major sites - Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun - the funky brown shiney trousers that Jay is wearing in the first bangkok photos were borrowed from the temple because his trousers were 3/4 length and too short - so don't worry, he hasn't gone all hippy!!!
On a whim we decided to fly to China (will be coming again in September) to spend a few weeks in Yunnan province whilst waiting to meet Emma's brother back in Ko Samui. We arrived late yesterday and had our first day having a look around Kunming city today. It's the 4th largest city in China and an epic to get around - unlike S.E. Asia all signs and road signs are in chinese and chinese writing!!!!!!!!!! We headed off to find the Green Lake Park and got seriously lost but eventually found it with a bit of help from the locals, who as it goes are really really friendly. We haven't seen too much coughing up and flobbing of phlegm, which is apparently a chinese past time, but this is only day one!!!!! It's totally different here than anywhere else we've been but we think we're going to like it. Off to the Bamboo Temple tomorrow, which involves getting a bus - wish us luck, ha ha!!!!!
