Awoke to loud booming tanoy in Cherbourg marina. This was giving the competitors and spectators the starting instructions for a triathalon. The initial swim was right past our berth in the marina for 300 metres. After we had seen them all back on land we had a fast and lively sail to Alderney from Cherbourg. It was a force 5 with wind over tide causing a lively sea and waves every now and again running down the decks. We were getting over nine knots over the ground most of the way and arrived for a late lunch having left Cherbourg at 10:15.
The skies cleared and we enjoyed a sunny walk around Alderney to look at the Swinge, which is one of the routes to sail south from. The sea was boiling even though wind and tide were together. Back on board ate the lasagne originally planned for Friday night. Plan to go to Jersey or Guernsey tomorrow with a 9am start through he Alderney race at slack tide.

Minoo I note with renewed hope the apitnnomept of Sally Jones and R.B.S's commitment to customer care ! As a customer of several years, formally dealt with by Neil Dephic and Michelle, I have found it impossible so far to talk to or email anybody since I was refused withdrawal of cash from my account earlier this year. I would appreciate either a telephone number to call ( not a call centre please) or an email address to get the answer to a few questions . Thank you ROGER MITCHELL
