Happy Xmas!!!!!!
So two days to go and I even manged to not scoff my whole advent calender in one! Everybody's getting in the xmas spirit here, and I was nearly mowed down by a hundred japanese santas whilst pressie shopping!
We had a big party at Sakura House this week lots of people being xmassy and merry, and our secret santa actually worked too very impressed! By the way if you are ever offered korean sake say NO its disgusting!!!
We played tour guides/roadies this wek too (Oooo get us!). An acoustic guitar/beatboxer called L-Mo came over from england for his worldtour, so we went to see him play a couple of times. One of the gigs was at a club doing a 'British undergound music' night, I'm still finding it funny finding out what the Japs see as typically 'British' i.e fish and chips, jelly babies, the beatles, austin powers, and toasties?!! Then we decided sushi would be a good idea after a few bevvies it always does, Chris thought he'd order the a random item written in japanese, which turned ou to be little tiny eeels in a sushi roll all with little eel eyes. Being brave I tried one it tasted like sea slime gross never again! (dont worry mum and dad I will help you avoid that one in March if i'm being nice!)
I think highlight of the week was definatley our Eartquake experience (dont panic! not a real one!) We thought we would be prepare ourselves in case of one and vistited the Earthquake simulater in Ikebukuro. It was actually scary, you're lead into a room with a table and given a cushion. The museum attendent the walks off and the whole room starts properly shaking! So we put the cushion on our heads and run under the table eeek and its so realistic !!! At the point when German chris suggets turning of the gas and i start to move out from under the table the whole thing starts shaking again eek! Very informative though and all free curtosy of Tokyo firedepartment. After visiting the Toyota car museum (yawn) it was time for something for the lady and i was allowed 40 minutes (how generous?!!!) in this huge tower block of shops called 'sunshine city'.
So, check out our pics and the one of 'Paro' the robot seal from the science museum, he is so cute I want one! And hope you all have a lovely xmas day on thursday, we may go out for Irish xmas dinner ooo! or failing that KFC which is traditional japanese xmas dinner apparently?!
Anyway love and Hugs, Holly
(p.s Gran and Grandad I was very impressed with your new found IT skills bravo! hope you got my card in time and are enjoying your hols.)xxxxxxxxx
