hey everyone!
So we got back to Antigua yesterday afterour homestay. It was lovely! We divide up in our pairs to stay with our families. The girl who took us to our family could speak a little english and we stayed at her sisters, which is good as there would be a lot more signing otherwise. We had a proper traditional Guatemalan dinner, which was egg, beans, cheese and tortillas. Olga was 21, but her sister had two children. Little juan was two that day and he was soooo cute! We bought him some chocolate coins and his face lit up. Olga then took us to her house to meet her parents and grandma. We ended up sitting outside on the street with all the locals watching the rallys for their elections go past. It was so much fun! Little juan kept playing with us, and couldn't talk a lot like any two year old, but managed goal and gringos! The family would be so embarassed when he said that, but we had to try and tell them we werent offended! Gringo means White person. They were like sport champions! There were lots of massive trophies for basketball and football. Her brothers either taught football or one of them played for Venezuela and was just home! They also had the cutest dog called Bruno, which I was nearly bringing home with me!
We went for a last night out last night. It was one girls birthday and about 3 peoples last night as it's a separate tour starting tomorrow. Was a good night, but sad to be losing some of the group. But we have some newbies joining, and apparently they are British woop!
Speak soon! Love to hear from home!
