Two fantastic day's walking. Yesterday we did the 10,000 steps. Five and a half hours walking, 18k and 1000m of ascent. My choice as we did it 2 years ago and so was pleased to find my fitness improved. Very warm climbing but views spectatcular and apart from a school group early on, we didn't see another sole. Blossom is nearly over and many of the spring flowers had gone too.
Calves were tight this morning but went out with Peter and the walking group to the Sierra Alta and did the two summits which included some scrambling. Views were stunning across to Calpe and Benidorm. Was up to 23 degrees today and you could really feel the heat in the sun. Lavender is out and so is the rosemary and thyme. Saw the flamingoes in Calpe, annoyingly we hadn't taken the binoculars.
Peter also walked with the group on Wednesday in the Penya Olta and slept very well that night! I walked down to the port and up into the old town and enjoyed the sun on the balcony that afternoon.
Thursday we went to les Rotes and walked to Denia along the sea front. Ann, Adam, Val and Ian will all remember the walk. From there we went back to Javea and met up with Esbe and Lola at Casa del Pasta. All dishes 5 euros at the moment and lovely food.
About to eat now and then out to Jazz Cafe for the last time. Meeting Tal and Lesley for coffee in the morning and then over to Esbe's for 2.00. Very international gathering: Polish, German, French, Dutch, Spanish and us. Esbe seems to think my French is quite good, think Peter has been overgenerous in his praise! Off on Monday to the south coast and then Benelmadena on Tuesday.
Must go as food is ready. xx
