Walk to the National Art Gallery & National Museum of Ireland.
Woke to a drab wet day, well it's Ireland. Coffee and walk along Lower Osmond Quay and Bachelor's Walk, mind you after seeing some of the girls around Talbot street bachelorhood looks like a good option. They guys aren't much either.
However, cross the river Liffey and a whole new world opens up. The Quay is modern, the theatre is new and the apartments are modern and filled with light and elevators. So many of the older apartments have NO elevators, heart attack territory.
The National Art gallery of Ireland had a small display of Irish artists, the reason is that they all went to the UK; France or Italy. Made their name and never came back to Ireland. However there is a comprehensive collection of Yeats, modern and you like it or not….not.
Irish artists are different in that their art has more colour and less 'dark' images. Welcoming.
We walked past the Irish Parliament house, lots of security and Mercedes cars.
The National Museum was very interesting and informative of the Irish history. The Irish were mainly farmers and there was little corruption by the Romans; some by the Vikings and significant by the Brits.
This is a much nicer part of the city.
Off to see The Omen -pre Halloween vintage spook movie at the Odeon Irish Pub. We will be checking out the Guinness too. Great food, awsome deserts and Keith has had his first Guinness. Bravo! Twas a good night.
