Torquay was all about surfing - Billabong, Ripcurl, etc etc were all thought up by some Aussies here, and its also where the anual Ripcurl surf contest is held, on Bells Beach. We rocked up in our van, and hit the surf pretty much straight away. After a good few hours in the waves we checked out a place called Surf City. Where all the major surf brands have huge department size stores. Great to look at, but seeing as we have no money, we could only dream!!! Looke...

From Surf Camp, we took our last Oz bus down to Sydney. Upon arrival, we checked into a hostel called Wake Up!, which my friend from school, Ant, was staying in. Anna went to meet up with some guys that we'd met earlier in our travels, and I went to find Ant in Sydney somewhere. Got hopelessly lost trying to find the bar he was in... Sydney's hard to work out in the dark - Had a few beers... won a few off these dunk Aussies at pool! Me and Ant made an unbeatable ...

Brisbane was a very clean and busy city - did a lot of shopping, mainly for warm clothes as its getting colder and colder as we go down the coast. On the evening we were there we went to the down under bar - THE place for all the backpackers to go in Brisbane. Had a fun night and got in at about 4 in the morning. Got up the next day, nd di a bit more shopping in Brisbane before catching our bus to Surfer's Paradise. En route we went zorbing - you get in a huge ba...

From Airlie Beach, we took a 12 hour bus ride (yuck!) to a cattle ranch called Kroombit way in the outback. Arrived quite late, and had a big raost cooked over a fire, then was taught how to crack a whip! Never know when it might come in handy?!?! Then had a few drinks, and rode the mechanical bull they had - not sure if i will ever be able to have kids after being on it, but it was funny! Played a few drinking games round the fire, and spoke to some real Ozzy...

Made it to Oz on the 3rd of May - strangest thing happened though. On the connecting flight from Darwin to Cairns I met a girl I went to school with called Anna who just happened to be on the same plane, same day... and she is doing the east coast as well which is great, and i am travelling with her until i get to Sydney (so if i refer to 'we' you know who i am talking about!) Arrived in Cairns exhausted and tired, and got to my hostel which was a little way out ...
