Hello everyone..First of all, sorry for the lack of photos.. we have been trying but for some reason its playing up all the time..We are attempting again now!
Second of all, were now in Cairns! Since we last wrote, we went to magnetic island. We had 3 nights here and literally did nothing and chilled. The hostel was right on the beach so it was a really simple 3 days. We had to get a ferry over from Townsville so it felt a little bit like being back on the islands in thailand..which we miss so much :( By this time we knew quite a lot of people who had been on the same buses and been to the same places as us so was really nice to see everyone meeting up again.
From here we went onto mission beach..yet again it was 3 days of doing nothing! We had a really nice hostel with really nice staff...and free tea and coffee! :) (by now, anything free goes!) Here we met up with the original gang from the first oz bus in sydney that we then travelled to byron bay with. Even though we didn't do it, mission beach is where everyone goes to do their skydives and rafting.. unfortunately we can't afford these things.. but it was still nice to chill out. And jade cut 3 peoples hair and earned a few dollars! yay! :) She had her own little salon going on in the alley way! We are now porridges' biggest fans.. eating it for breakfast and tea! Unless were feeling sorry for ourselves, we may add a couple of oranges in! Hopefully weight loss will be on the cards! yay!
From mission beach we went onto Cairns..we have been here 2 nights and have 1 more night before we fly to New Zealand tomorrow. Cairns isnt really what we expected but we still really like it. It has a really nice lagoon as the beach is pretty shocking! And apparantly has croccys in! :( We've spent most the time with our closest friends and are sad today as we had to say goodbye to them last night and this morning, although no doubt we will all meet up at home :) In between being in Cairns, we've done a 1 night 2 day trip up to Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. We went with a guy from the original gang called Matt. It was really beautiful and we saw lots of croccys on the wildlife cruise on the daintree river. When we got to our accomodation we were petrified as there were the biggest spiders everywhere :( We also went to a place called Mossman gorge and had a swin in the fresh water. Jade nearly drowned whilst trying to save another girl who was being taken away by the current! haha! We are absolutely knackered today as it was our friends birthday last night and a farewell australia do for everyone. It was a wicked night, we danced all night long :) We had to say goodbye to our favourite couple Kat and David, we love them! We also got to experience a gay bar, kindly taken by Guy! There were drag queens everywhere, really quite amusing for the girls, not so much for the boys! haha! :)
So today were chilling by the lagoon and meeting up with a friend from home tonight before getting up early tomorrow to catch our flight.. hello winter clothes (which were slacking on!) Again were really sad to be leaving Australia but so excited for New Zealand. We've had an amazing time and met some really nice people here. Mummys and Daddys we think you should come to Australia together... and bring us if u want?! :) Love you lots and lots and missing you all loads xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Ps. Soph we thought you looked absolutely stunning in your leavers dress, were both very jealous! And we want to borrow it! haha!
xxxxxxxxxx
