Hi everyone, sorry its taken us a while for an Australian blog but we've been busy having so much fun! We love Australia!! :)
So we started off in Sydney, it was absolutely tipping it down when we arrived at the airport and were worried we were going to be in for a wet stay but things soon changed. Julie and Rob met us at the airport and drove us to Forestville where we stayed with them for just over a week. It was absolutely lovely, we had an amazing time exploring the area with everyone, they were really really kind to us and we still can't thank them enough. During our stay in Sydney we visited Bondi beach, which even though it was raining, it was a really nice place and you could tell it would be heaving in the summer. We also went to Manly on numerous occasions as we absolutely loved it. We went on a few nights out here which was cool and we took a stroll to a little beach called Shelly beach round the corner. This was the day when we re-united with the guys, Matt and Ben and we had a lush picnic and it was a boiling hot day, so yet again, topping up the tan! :) Obviously we did the touristy things, we walked round the botanical gardens which was beautiful, but kind of turned into photo session! We also went to darling harbour which was amazing, so pretty. We visited Taronga Zoo with Matt (Ben disowned us for the day!) It was an amazing zoo as it over looked the harbour bridge and the opera house, even though we nearly got locked in as didn't realise when it closed! haha! We also got the ferry from Manly into Circular Quay which is in the center, it was an amazing view as you arrived, bridge on one side and the opera house on the other. We did it in the day and at night so got the best of both worlds. We were so glad we got to do the sydney harbour bridge climb, such a great experience. We had a really good group, all had a laugh and we even played "whats the time mr.wolf?" on the walk back down! (How typical of us!) Whilst we were in Sydney, Rob and Julie kindly took us to Palm Beach (Home & away!) It was surreal to be there but unfortunately we didn't see any of the cast! Damnnn! Overall we loved our time in Sydney and could of stayed a lot longer but were excited to hop on the Oz bus!
Next stop was surf camp, this was the first of the stops on the oz experience bus and we got a free surf lesson. We got on the bus and made friends with the majority of the people on there so the surf lesson was funny as we all had a laugh at each other. Jade never managed to stand up on the board but was quite happy on her front swimming about like a dolphin! Melissa managed to get up a few times, another lesson and she'll be a pro! ;) haha! From here we went onto Byron Bay, a really nice little beachy town which we fell in love with. We stayed in a really nice hostel with all the people from the bus. We were here for 4 nights and had some really good nights out with the gang and just chilled in the day, on the beach or leisurly bike rides as it was free hire! Whilst we were here we also went Zorbing. It was such a great experience even though we were petrified to begin with! We screamed our heads off but had such good fun, we'll hopefully upload the videos onto here (if not, they're on facebook!)
Next stop was Surfers Paradise. We had now said goodbye to most people on our bus apart from a couple who we got on really well with and two other girls from Bolton. Again we all stayed in the same hostel and had some fun nights cooking together! We also went to Wet & Wild waterpark which was so much fun! (And we even braved our fears of the rides!!) We cant actually properly comment on surfers paradise as we stayed just out of it and didn't have time to go in during the day, but we did see it by night as we went out with the guys that worked at our hostel and had a wicked night.
From here we went onto Brisbane which was just a big city so not alot to do for tourists. We were only here for two nights but again we had fun nights cooking in the hostel. We also went to the Koala Sanctuary in the day which was cool. We cuddled koalas and got to feed kangaroos! They're both so cute and we want them as pets!
We are now in Noosa which is such a beautiful place, it's like a little sleepy beachy town. We've just relaxed on the beach for two days as we've both come down ill from too much partying and goon (Cheap boxed wine, 5 pound for 4 litres!) Wish we could stay here for longer but were on a bit of a tight schedule.
Were both really excited about the next part of our journey. We leave here tomorrow to go to Rainbow beach which is where we are doing our fraser island tour from which we can't wait for! In about a week and a half we've also got our whitsunday sailing trip which is going to be amazing. After that we'll be making our way up to Cairns stopping at a few more places, including a place where we do goat rodeo which involves us chasing & milking goats! We'll try and get a video for you as it will be pure comedy genius!
Missing you all, 2 months left to go now, over half way done! We bet your all excited but it feels strange to us that half of it's already over. Loads of love to everyone, Jadey and Lou lou xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
