Today in Cancouver it was very rainy. This set the tone for our search for a car. Breakfast at IHOP was by far the highlight, i had wopping size meal with a side of pancakes. Yesterday, Denny's, IHOP today and hopefully i can persuade Laura to a Wendy's tomorrow..
We went to a garage that was far outside of Cancouver reachable by 30minute skytrain and a 10 minute taxi. Whilst searching for a taxi stop we found a mall to look around. This was very American looking and smelling (from what i can remember). The cars at this garage were a reasonable price but just didn't feel right or had too many miles. We then went to its sister garage where it was the same story and although they had a car that suited our needs, the salesman and the hint of a past owner that was a smoker put us off. We then had to get back to the skytrain by getting a taxi... The indian driver who was shouting, giggling having a very good time with his friend over the bluetooth did not get a tip needless to say.
We stopped off at New Westminster to look at a few more garages. By this time it was really raining and all the cars were overpriced and not worth getting my socks damp.
Finally we made it back to our apartment by getting another taxi and walking in the wrong direction - now to a well earned cup of tea. Although it wasnt a successful day with the car, we are still very happy to be here in the city that looks beautiful.. even in the rain.
