Its been a busy day today
We first decided to walk to the social security office as recommended by the hotel staff. On route walking through Stanley park, we saw a gathering and a man diverting us on a path. This was because there was a filming of a cop drama taking place! I think it was a cop drama because a man was getting beaten up by a woman, but it could of been some crazy game show.
We gave up walking after half an hour and got a taxi to the office, and I'm so glad we did as it was quite a distance even in the taxi. Getting our sin number was very straight forward and the person who served us happened to have a car for sale that was our exact budget. We are waiting to get photos from her - so we may of stumbled upon a good car without any looking at at!
We couldnt resist Dennys that was across the road. We filled up the tank with a huge toasted sarnie, pancakes and chocolate milk (bacon milkshake was on offer).
Again, getting a bank account was straight forward apart from the lady stealing my sin details...we have to go back tomorrow and collect it.
Getting a mobile phone was not straight forward however. It took us well over an hour because after purchasing the handset, the manager said it wasnt in stock. We waited and then he said we had to pick it up from a sister store across town. But we finally got it and in doing so saw more of this wonderful city, scouted out some shops to get trainers for work and ice hockey supplies for the game on monday. They are ice hockey mad here! The games are on repeat constantly and the vancouver canucks logo is everywhere.
Going to get some more juice and snacks now, the food is one of the best things here for sure
