Okay, so I just got done with the last of my "family commitments" and I'm doing my last checks and preparations to head up to Atlanta tomorrow.
Ah, perhaps I could start with a little background (as if anyone cared): I've been a civilian for the better part of a week and I'm already sporting some "respectable" facial hair growth. Okay, rewinding a bit further. Here's my life up-to-date in one breath: Wayward submarine officer (loves the Navy, despises the shipyard) marooned on Oahu (Thats part of Hawaii) has a s***ty day on watch one day, drops his resignation letter, volunteers for a temporary assignment to CENTCOM (thats in Tampa), kicks some terrorist ass (or at least writes a plan to), returns to Honolulu (city on Oahu, which is part of Hawaii), doesn't really "work" but "gets paid" and spends "spare time" "working" in a dive shop as a divemaster. Lives life, really "cool". Did I mention I like quotation marks and parentheses?
What an uneventful week this has been, though. I would have to say it was last Thursday that I got the bright idea to re-watch all three seasons of Battlestar Galactica (which, I might add, is the best show on television) in advance of the premier of season four. I didn't quite make it despite my best efforts and about six hours of episodes a night. Oh well, I should have put in a full eight hours. Anyway, I'm sitting here at my parents house updating my mother's iPod that she's lent me for my trek. Gear is packed and updating the music. Why am I still writing?
