Fontana Dam, North Carolina

Day 15 Monday - Cable Gap Shelter Mileage: 14 miles (156.0 total) So I took the 14 mile route today instead of pressing 3 miles to the campsite past the shelter, just prior to Fontana Dam. Welcome to my adventure! As you may or may not know, on April 1st 2008 I resigned my active duty commission in the US Navy. I found myself at a crossroads and decided to take a turn. I'm currently unemployed and hiking north on the Appalachian Trail. I couldn't be happier.
