A day in the Yorkshire Dales. Uncle Ray, Aunty Gill took us to a beautiful little village in Yorkshire, called Ingleton. We had a family picnic and then set off for the 8km walk known as the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. It took us just on 4 hours and was quite arduous with the heat and the steep steps. The fit bit has recorded 52 flights of stairs! We walked through forests, farmlands and a gorge. The steepest waterfall, "Thornton Force" was beautiful and features in Turners paintings. We saw and photographed over 8 falls, the Peca and Swila Glen and the Baxengyll Gorge. Not bad for doing this on the hottest day of the year at over 30 degrees Celsius. By the time we got back to the car we were hungry and thirsty. Lucky we had a roast chicken and drinks left over from lunch. 5 very tired people ate and then headed back to Ormskirk.
