Congratulations to Shrub and Milky on their wedding!!! See you next week x x
This week I am back in Indian Hills and Friday Joe had a party. He had organised a great band to play in his garage called Something Underground and had catering and beer for 80 of his closest friends and me! Spent most of the day getting the house and garden ready, I was in charge of the lawn and when Joe showed me how to use his sit on lawn mower I didn't tell him that I had ruined my dads by backing it in to a stream. Leave it to me Joe! It was time to get showered before guests arrived and despite Joes best efforts I didnt believe that showering together would be necessary to save water. Nice try Joe but I am not quite that stupid!
The party was going great until the cops turned up, apparently Joe must have forgotted to invite one of his neighbours so they complained about the noise. Joe handled it beautifully though, becoming beligerent and threatening a cop. Luckily they didnt throw him in jail and he just has to go to court. On the plus side one of the cops was very very hot so I took it upon myself to chat to him while Joe was forced to sit on the bumper of the cop car. Very disloyal of me I know! The excitement didnt end there, somewhere along the line one neighbour started shouting at another neighbour so shots were fired (from a neighbouring property). Soon the cops were back with big old guns! This time we managed to keep Joe blissfully unaware of their arrival and they soon left.
Following the party Joe and I spent the whole of the following day in our PJ's chatting under a tree about various events through the evening. At intervals neighbours would pop in to chat it was a very relaxed day! In the evening Shadows friend paid us a visit. Shadow is Joes dog and he has made friends with a deer.
On Sunday we went to the dog park and then went out for a ride in the afternoon. Once again I got to 'round pen' Morticia before we went riding (horse whispering)and she 'joined up' with me which is when they treat you like the alpha mare and follow you around. My sister is convinced that I had a carrot in my pocket but I promise I didnt. The ride was beautiful in the mountains which is basically your back yard if you live up here. On the way back we had to get off a little early as Morticia seems to have bruised on of her feet and was a little lame. As I got off my t-shirt got caught on the horn of the saddle and I basically exposed myself. Joe was looking the other way thankfully! Went out to play pool in the evening and I wiped the floor with him!
Tuesday I went in to Denver while Joe was at work and spent some time in the aquarium. My favourate fish were the tigers????!!!!??? Dont ask me why they have tigers in the aquarium but they do. I was stood up against the glass when one of them took a bit of a dislike to me. He put his ears back and rushed up to the glass, meanwhile I took a step backwards wondering if he could come right through and fell over a rock behind me! Joe was leaving for a business trip so I had to give him a lift to the airport in the afternoon and then go back and look after the animals. Of course this was the night when the dogs decided to go mental at something in the garden late at night! I think they were probably doing it to wind me up and it worked. For nearly 3 hours they were on high alert. I have no idea what it was but my heart was in my mouth, could have been a deer, or a fox or a bear!!
The following day I had to go to the pet shop and get parrot food, I fell in love with a puppy and wondered how Joe would feel if he came home to 3 dogs. Surely another one wouldn't make that much difference? It was very tempting. At midday I was picked up by Vince, Greg and Ruvin (an 80 year old Mexican) to go to my first baseball match. The Rockies were playing the Padres and Joe had managed to get 4 tickets through work. The seats were fantastic right near the dugout and if we had been any closer I think we would have been playing! I had a great time and to top it all the Rockies won (naturally thats who I support now). After the game it was back to Vinces for a BBQ and pool tournament. It seems that no matter what I did I couldn't win a game, very frustrating. Next time I am gonna cheat!
Thursday I picked Joe up from the airport and went and met Van and Katie for something to eat at a lovely little restaurant in Morrison. It was right next to a creek and during the meal a mother raccoon arrived with her 3 babies. As I went over to take photos Joe Katie and Van just kept shouting "not to close, stay where you are", despite appearances these things are viscious apparently. I escaped in one piece.
Friday I went with Joe to his office in Colorado Springs and while he went to work I took the car and toured the Garden of the Gods. In the afternoon I booked the flight to my next destination ( I leave tomorrow).
Some other things I have done this week, I have tried Clams for the first time and liked them! Also a friend has asked me to say a daily affirmation for her to prevent her arse from sagging. I have been saying this daily (she has requested I say it for a month so she must be really worried) and I will be interested to hear if it has done any good?
