Hi again gang,
Thought i'd do a little update before we leave Surfers, not sure when i'll get on the internet after that!
Most days Olivia and I spend walking into town, doing a spot of shopping (without spending the money ofcourse), and going out in the evenings!
Last friday we had our first night out on the town...met a handsome man who took us to an Irish Pub called Waxy's. He bought us a couple of drinks then left (leaving his drink) so that was great! The male attention that night was phenomonal considering Olivia and I spent our evening pulling some cracking moves on the dance floor...and everytime we got off we had some 'Great Moves!' comments.
Saturday night we went out with Charlotte and friends...we went to a place called the 'beer gardens' where a live band was playing. Naturally, the lead guitarist wanted me (hahaha. not really. but i like to pretend).
Sunday was VALENTINES DAY! So we thought, great...go to town...loads of people will be out surely! NOONE. LITERALLY WAS CRAP. We ended up walking past the 'Ripley's believe it or not' museum, and speaking to the guy outside about how rubbish it looked. He was pointing things out 'yep, that tvs broken, this is supposed to be spinning, the ceiling is leaking, those lights are supposed to be on...we opened 3 weeks ago!' Strangely enough, after standing outside this thing so many times and staring at it, the next day we decided to go on in!
IT WAS AMAZING! I really enjoyed it. And we got a backpacker price. Woo!
Fizz, Jasper, Alex, Seb and Ross arrived on the goldy on monday night...so on tuesday they came with us to the Tamborine Mountains. We rented a car with two other people we were staying with, and headed on up to the 'green behind the gold'.
We decided which national park to walk through, and as we got on one there were two ways to go. The normal way or the forbidden way. So ofcourse, we all walked into the depths of the rainforest on an offbeaten track closed due to 'natural disasters'. There were loads of HUGE fallen trees blocking the paths and streams. We climbed stuff, walked across waters and on slimey rocks. I felt like a right rebel adventurous lady. Once we had walked into what felt like the middle of the rainforest, we heard a roar of thunder and a pitter patter of rain. OH and then A LOT OF RAIN. We were all drenched from head to toe, and i could barely look out of my eyes cos there was so much water in them. We trecked back to the car, and then the rain stopped. Fizz found a leech inbetween her toes. I found one on my ankle (my very first leech, woo!) and JASPER FOUND ONE ON HIS BALLS. HAHA!
After fash and chap lunch, we headed back (not before fizz and jaspers van, trent leonard, broke down on us!). $130 later they were back on the road. All the gang came back to our room and we all sat chilling, and listened to the boys read us Harry Potter.
That night we went into Surfers, after a curry at 'the Curry Muncher', but it was pretty dead. We had a boogie at Waxy's then headed back to the van for more Harry Potter time.
The next day we all chilled, bought some food and had a picnic by the river (the guys were all sleeping outside our house in the vans). Then they headed off to Noosa for some surf time. We will be meeting them this weekend in Byron though!
So yeah, we leave Surfers on Sunday morning to head to Byron Bay. Yay!
Leave me comments etc so i know it's still worth writing this for anyone other than my parents.
PS IF ANYONE WANTS TO CONTRIBUTE TO MY LIFE LONG DREAM OF SKYDIVING, PLEASE DO. JUST CALL IT BIRTHDAY AND CHRISTMASSES FOR LIFE! Everyone is bloody doing one and i'm getting annoyed.
