We did the touristy bit today: got a taxi to the Mocanita train station, and took the steam train up into the mountains. It's the CFF route - the last forest railway route in Europe. Aparently until the late 1980's they were still building the steam locomotives, and they were running on 2000 miles of railway tracks. To this day there are still about 600 miles left of forest railway tracks that go up into the mountains. We got to the station around 8, got our ticketsand the train left just on time. it went on for about an hour and a half until it got in the deep forgotten woods and we stopped for a break - a spot of lunch and a walk in the woods. Great scenery and loads of waterfalls - there's no houses or people that far into the woods, but in the grass youn could spot the trails of stags, boars, woolves and even bigger wild things - brown bears. Didn't see any - fortunately, saw a few eagles. Got back to the station and walked for 2 miles to the hotel. Off to bed- we're going to Cluj tomorrow for the last day in Romania...
Can'd am ajuns inapoi in oras ne-am hotarat sa mergem pe jos veo 3 km pana la hotel.
