g'day to all,
I flew from Cairns to spend my last 5 days of OZ in Melbourne. It was exciting to see Neale, Miki and Rahul again. Unfortunately I didnt have time to see all of my friends - and of course some had already moved away from Melbourne.
It was freezing cold when Neale came to pick me up. A temperature change from +30 degrees to only +7 was deadly. I wasnt sure if Id survive my planned surfing trip, because it would be further south and the water would surely be colder than by the great barrier reef where I went snorkeling.
I spent two days just meeting friends and eating out. It was great! I remembered again the renown nights out in Melbourne.. It's crazy over here. I wanted to chill, I think I've had enough partying for a few years..or weeks at least hehe! Miki is doing great. She has a boyfriend and a cool new job as a chef at a fresh japanese restaurant. The rest of my flatmates have gone somewhere else, even home already.
Tuesday was the day I was looking forward to. I got up super early and packed my bag ready to go to the Island. I met Wapu's friend Rosco and we hit the surf! It wasnt as cold as I thought it would be, the wetsuits were really good and my enthusiasm kept me going. I stayed there for the night at Roscos cool self-contained holiday appartment. I wish I would have had battery on my camera to take photos of the original interior decorating he'd done. Old surfboard,signs,colors..it was perfect! We had and early surf and then I dwelled myself into reading Twilight, the book that has been just made to a movie. It really is a good book! I was supposed to catch a bus to go bakc to Melbourne, but Neale my friend told me the arrival time in Melbourne, rather than the departure time. So I did what I thought was fair and made him come and get me, hehe. I know - selfish, but I was stressed because of my flight to Bangkok today.
Even now after hours of time to prepare Im in a hurry. I didnt have time to do my shopping. Guess I have to come back for some stuff ;) Im a bit nervous, because I feel I havent been travelling lately. Australia, especially Byron Bay and Melbourne feel like home. now I have to get used to a new currency, different language and area, food - im expecting a huge cultureshock. I think I will survive, but as they say: it's always healthy be a little bit nervous before performing. And this is it.
I will be home soon, but to your annoyance, I wont tell you when. I will see you soon!
Love,
Apples
p.s I got into the promo for Mojosurf Australia 2009! go the apples..
