hi all

We moved to our new apt today to start our trek. the group seem nice so far but we are the oldest people in it. they are all bout 18. the trek sounds good, except for the squat toilets. so not looking forward to them. we go on the over nite train tomorrow. it doesnt sound so good. no air con and on a train for 13hrs. im in a room at the minute on my own as the girl sharing is stayin in with her boyfriend. cant complain bout that at all. we are taking it in turns to stay in the rooms on our own too hot for the three of us to share one room.

went to the Wat Pho today - its where the sleeping budda is. Its massive and its covered in 24 carat gold leaves. We got the tour guide round all the temples. they are amazing. They are all gold and covered in colourful gems etc. The rich familys but their ashes in them. They all came from china many years ago. We learnt soo much more in that hr than we have our whole time here. the temples are really a stunning. and the buddaism sounds amazing. All thai people have to become a monk for 3 months when they turn 20. Its all very respectable. And there are different budda s that symbolise different things by the way that they sit. EG stop fighting and love etc.

The thai massgae is also a skillful art. They study so much for it. They have a whole room of old paintings detailing how the massage should be done. looking forward to it.

God knows when i will get the internet again but hoping we will have ready access to it. hope to have enough pictures by then to upload.
