Today we woke about nine am and still felt a little tired. Steven opened his most expensive possession (the marmite) and delicately spread it on his toast before we set off for some sightseeing. We walked as far as the sky train before we were sweating and hyperventilating... We really need to get used to this weather! We headed on to the cool airy sky train and got off at Siam where there is a very large shopping mall, although they are everywhere. We wandered in and straight away I saw a Zara, H&M and a Mango all next to each other and down a bit further? A Mulberry shop... Yes Mulberry has come to Asia!! We walked around them and thought we would find some summery clothes but nothing caught our eyes so we headed to the sports floor. I was really wanting some new flip flops that didn't insist on rubbing my feet to death... Damn those 100 rupee Varanasi flip flops. Anyway after a while trying on various styles I found some and was presently surprised to get tax back on them so they were actually cheaper then expected. They were the same brand as Stevens so we now had his and hers lol....
We then left the mall and decided to take a long stroll in the direction of the hostel and see what we came across on route... And we came across a Topps supermarket and it was awesome. We bought loads of fresh fruit, fresh juice and bread and wait for it.... Baked beans!! Aww I was so happy to see them. We also found some wasabi peanuts and headed to the checkout. On the way out we passed the Topps cafe and Steven couldn't resist trying the food and it was delicious. He had some spicy thai pork and vegetable with rice and it only cost about a pound... It was very fragrant and he enjoyed it a lot. I wasn't that hungry so munched on the Melon I bought and drank about a gallon of water.
We then proceeded to head back to the hostel and once there planned what we would do with these few weeks before chilling out a little. We then explored the area a little at night before having some dinner in a local eatery. It didn't look the best with cats lying all over the tables and floor but the food looked delicious and the cats were pure bred! we sat and enjoyed a pad thai (Steven's chicken, mine prawn) and some basil and chilli vegetables, while listening to the temple opposite. It felt truly authentic and the food was delicious, we were joined by a canadian couple we met in the hostel and say for ages about travelJanuary 29th

We then proceeded to head back to the hostel and once there planned what we would do with these few weeks before chilling out a little. We then explored the area a little at night before having some dinner at a local eatery not far from the hostel. The place didn't look the cleanest and I could hear our mums voices telling us off for considering it but when in Rome... The place had a charm with its pure bred cats lying all over the tables, especially the little cross eyed fellow that sat on the chair nearby starring at me. We ordered a pad thai each (Steven chicken, me prawn) as well as some basil and chilli vegetables and it was delicious. we sat and savoured every mouthful while listening to the chanting and prayers in the temple opposite. We were soon joined by a canadian couple who we had befriended in the hostel and chatted about travelling, weight-loss and work before we wandered home and fell into bed.
