6:30 The alarm clock rings, Bryan and the boys get up and get ready for school. An important part of the morning routine is to cover arms, legs and face in the 30 SPF sunscreen that come in liters here.
Outside, the clouds are leaving to make room for another hot and sunny day, 27 degrees.
In the meantime Jonathan wakes up after a good night's sleep. Him and I enjoy a nice breakfast in the shade to the sound of parrots flying in the trees in front of us and with a view to the beautiful river.
8:00 The boys and Bryan take off to the school, Bryan on roller blades as he is continuing straight to the beach where he is taking surf lessons
9:30 Jonathan and I are ready to join Bryan on the beach, but first we (I) have to check out the many interesting stores on the street right behind the beach
11:00 We make it to the beach and try to find Bryan among the many surf students in the water. It looks very hard to surf, not many are actually standing on their boards. We are with a couple from Canada, Naomi and Mickey that also have a baby.
12:00 Bryan and Mickey are back from their lessons, in strong need of a beer, so we hurry to the Surf Club, a restaurant right on the beach, for refreshments and food. Jonathan is not in the best of moods so we take turns enjoying our food, thankfully we have company in Naomi and Mickey.
13:30 We bus back home to pick up the kids at 2:45. We have a 15 min bus ride from the beach.
15:00 Once home from school, the kids hurry to the river in front of our house to see whether we caught any crabs in our crab trap. We did catch a few, but not big enough to be eaten (although far bigger than any crab I have ever seen in Denmark). Better luck next time. And all the boys had fun fighting with the crabs and their big claws before letting them back into the river.
We share a big watermelon, and the kids tell about their day at school. Daniel had a good day as he had swimming classes, Thomas had the best day of all days in this school because it was 'buddy-day' (where you play with an assigned buddy from another class) and because they got to dig for treasures in class.
16:30 Afterwards it is pool time before dinner. The pool is nice, warm and yet refreshing, and the boys can spend hours in it. Next to the pool there are two nice sunbeds for me ;-). Today was also Jonathans first day in the swimming pool. He seemed to like it, although a bit stunned by all the attention.
18:00 We enjoy dinner on our terrace, although fighting off a few mosquitoes with various repellent lamps, bracelets and sprays.
18:45 At dusk, we realise that the lawn is full of toads, to the great excitement of Daniel and Thomas. They actually manage to catch two of them and they put them in a big bucket with a bit of water and grass.
20:00 All the boys are asleep and Bryan and I enjoy the many sounds of the tropics and the stars in the sky from our balcony. We prefer being upstairs at night as there a many animals in the dark bushes, so we prefer to stay safe higher up ;-)
Just another day on parental leave in Paradise.
Tomorrow, Bryan takes a break from his surfing to volunteer in the school 'tuck shop' (= cafeteria), and I am planning to go to a pilates class while Jonathan stays at the child care centre in the same building.

Have fun!
Hyg jer. Knus Charlotte
Mandy THE BIG REVEAL!Not like a lot of us didn't realize what was going on, but still. Definitely an OH SNAP momnet for Meela. XDNow the question is, why DID he look like her? AND, is he actually talking to her now, or is she sort of conversing with Feral's subconscious/inner child?
