Helen's Travels
On the 31st March we flew from Durban to Jo'burg for the weekend. We got to our hostel and then went to the biggest shopping centre in Africa to get some things sorted.
That evening, Jaks friend picked us up and we went for dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant with some of his friends. I think we'd both describe the experience as interesting. No cuttlery in sight and the food was definitely interesting but ok....not sure we'd go back. Later that nigth Jaks friend dropped us off at Will (from Uni) apartment. We had a good night out with them with a number of shooters flying around (thanks Will!) It was ideal though a proper bed, shower and washing facilities, what more could I ask for?
On the Saturday we spent the morning at the apartheid museum, which was intereting. Just a lot of information to digest but again makes you realise how awful that time was. In the afternoon we went to watch the cricket - SA vs Oz which was a cool afternoon in the sunshine! On the Sunday we spent the whole day at the cricket, and I'm sure Will's friends St Georges cross went down a treat with the Australians! That evening we went to a really nice restaurant where I managed to try Kudu, Ostrich and Springbok, all very nice except for the Ostrich!
