It was a four hour bus ride from the airport to the hotel. The bus driver sold water and beer on the bus and the beer was a tallboy (4.1%) and it cost about $1.40. We bought out all his beer before we got to the hotel and he said that had never happened before. We have some serious drinkers on the team (all in good fun!) I actually had three - more than I've had in the last year. We stopped at a restaurant called Bonaparte in honor of Napolean Bonaparte who fought a battle there in 1805. It was David Perera's 17th birthday and his father arranged a little something for him. @ guys dressed up as soldiers from that era came in with a cake and playing the drum and presented him his cake. Before we left they did a demonstration outside of how they loaded and shot their guns and then they let the birthday boy do it. The dinner here was amazing and they had us served and out of the restaurant in half an hour. The dinner was on the tour company. It was chicken cordon bleu, potatoes and coleslaw with an apple streudel for dessert.
We pulled as close as we could get to the hotel - the streets are so narrow at about 10PM. Check in was the smoothest ever. 2 of the tour people are in a car that go ahead to our destinations to make sure everything is set up so they had all our room assignments and keys ready when we got there. Our room is very nice. We can open our window (no screens) and leave it open since there are no bugs here. So cool to sit out at night and not to get eaten alive!!!
