Hello all
Since I last wrote we have been travelling around Costa Rica. The bus journey to Costa Rica was pretty dire. Waking at 4 in the morn we got on a bus to Moyogalpa on Ometepe, which took 2.5 hours, then caught the boat over to the mainland (1hr) After that we jumped quickly into a taxi which took us to the bus terminal from where we jumped on a bus to Penas Blancas (another 2 hours). The border went smoothly and we narrowly missed a huge surge of people so managed to get through rather quickly. On the other side of the border we hopped on a bus to Liberia, from where we caught yet another connecting bus, which dropped us off at the junction to Monteverde and Santa Elena, our next stop. We caught a bus from the junction to Santa Elena and eventually reached our next hçhotel Cabinas Eddy ($8 per night) after around 13 to 14 hours of travelling. Nackering!!
The next day we thought rather than spend the day walking around the jungle, that instead we would spend it zooming over the jungle at aound 60kph on zip lines, some of them at a height of 600ft. The canopy was awesome, and pretty high in places. We also got to do a 30m rappel, a tarzan swing and a superman cable (which lasted 1km and was fast and damn high). Was an awesome day after the crappy day we had before.
The next day we had a roam around the Monteverde reserve which was good but not worth the 17 dollar entry fee. We did however see a resplendant quetzal and many a hummingbird.
Other than that we watched the England game which wasn't even worth wasting the time on.
