In an effort to save some euros, my last dinner in Rome consisted of a trip to a supermarket (just a small one) for a few supplies. Shortly thereafter I was armed with freshly baked crusty bread (still warm), a tomato, tiramisu (complete with fork-I have a pocket knofe but neglected to acquire the all important spork) and buffalo mozzerella. As some would know, and the fork marks in the back of their hands will attest to, I have a slight obsession with buffalo mozzerella. It costs an arm and a leg in NZ, and costs about $2 here for a rather large chunk. In all fairness the size was really more suited for two people but I cant waste something that good. The just out of the packet stuff is incredible as its still so moist and squishy. I find it dries out really quickly when you get it in readymade sandwiches.
Its going to be a quiet night tonight in prep for a flight tomorrow to Athens. Must pack as I have scattered belongs all over the hotel room.
