My arrival in Athens was without fuss. I was to meet Julie and Kristen at the airport in Athens-they were flying from London and their flight arrived about 20mins before mine. Their baggage claim area was next to mine-however we were seperated by a glass partition (as they were flying into the EU region and I was flying EU-EU). We actually managed to find each other on opposite sides of the partition and mine that we will meet up at the arrival gates (quite amazing given how busy the airport is).
The metro into the middle of Athens was straightforward. Our hostel is-ah-hem-interesting. The best part is that you cant flush toilet paper so you have to put it in the bin. There is a general consensus that between us (and I think between us we have travelled over 60 countries), the water pressure in the shower is the worst. However, Its close to the Acropolis though, as in walk down the street and see it! Its all about the location!
We had a beautiful dinner on a cobblestone side street. Wine, baklava, olives, squid, souvlaki etc. And a bit more wine *~*
