Day 1 - 30 Apr 15
A long awaited holiday for the year. We are here in Melbourne after 7 years since the last time when we came here for our honeymoon. We are thankful to be back here - to bring our kids this time to the place where their parents had travelled - and when they were madly in love with each other. In case you are wondering, the truth is, they are even more madly and deeply in love with each other now.
Back to the subject proper, we started our day very early in the morning. Flight was at 740am and we got up as early as 430am to prepare and got to the airport at about 545am. We still had sufficient time before boarding to enjoy a really good breakfast meal at the lounge. The flight was smooth. It was 7 hours long. Thank God for Krisworld entertainment. I managed to watch a movie by the name of Whiplash. It was half inspirational and half masochistic. The show was about a lad who practised his drums real hard to the point of bleeding at his fingers under his extremely perfectionistic and tyrannical music professor. I liked the show purely because it depicted the reality of putting in hard work in order to achieve something (but not to the extreme where you lose yourself) and secondly, because it was just about music.
When we arrived at the airport, we collected our rented car and made our way to Alice's place. We didn't purchase any of their local data plan sim card and little did we realise that somehow, Emma and I both weren't able to activate international roaming. Thankfully, Emma managed to key in Alice's address to her Google map before her phone lost connection. It was was not all smooth. We missed a turn and landed ourselves in Melbourne city. We stopped at somewhere convenient to make milk for Yu who was already crying in the car for almost half an hour before we decided to pull over. We managed to navigate ourselves back on track thankfully and got to Alice's place at about 8pm plus. We were just so happy to be able to feel the warmth in her house after a really long journey.
Chatted with Alice while we had our dinner. The kids adjusted well and Le was prancing around the house like it was his own. We were glad that he was able to settle down so quickly. Ok. Got to sleep now. The real holiday experience begins tomorrow. Yeah!
