Hi everyone, thank you for all your messages, sarah and I actually nearly cried when we read the, its really wierd being so far away from you all and we miss you all loads!
Weve finally left the smog of Bangkok and headed north. We met our tour group and theyre all lovely, 3 people from Oz, one from Switzerland, me and sarah and 3 other english girls (emily and olivia who are sisters and Lauren who weve adopted). We're all about as prepared for this trip as each other and are basically spending a lot of time gossiping and trying to get a tan.
We did an amazing cruise down the river kwai yesterday on a rice barge, which was basically like 2 big floating rooms attached to a little boat which tugged us along which was very strange. We stopped at a cave temple on the way down the river, the monks find it offensive if you have your shoulders and knees uncovered but I dont see how its less offensive when were sweating all over the temple! We spent the night on the boat under the stars last night and slept surprisingly well apart from when we crashed into another boat and Holly and Emily torches rasied ran about the boat thinking wed been boarded by pirates.
After a very early start and a lot of travlling on our van with benches aDn a quick stop off at the death railway museum and the bridge over the river kwai we arrived at the erawan waterfall. It was amazingly beautiful, totally clear water with hundreds of butterflys flying around, however it was about 100 degress and we had to walk for an hour up a mountain!
Tonight is our last night here and tomorrow we head further north, spending tomorrow night on the disco train (i kid you not) to Chang Rai. Have a look at our photos theyre all super cool!
Love you all loads.
