Last Few Days of Week 1
After a very heavy night due to beer pong, we both thought we would have a day of rest and take in some of the culture. We walked around miraflores, one the district within Lima. Mira flores also being the nicest district in Lima we had lunch in the main plaza over looking the sea.
As most will know, me and rick do suffer from hangovers so we chilled out for most the day, playing alot of pool and ping pong, and i am proud to say that i managed to 7 pool rick, therefore making him drop trowel and do a lap around the table and after some minor complaining rick completed his mission, lucky enough for him the bar was pretty empty at that time, also meeting some finish girls who were very forward and couldn´t play pool or pingpong.
The thursday night we again just sat around and chatted with some friends we had made, Kurt, Rob, and Hughie, we chatted till the early hours about many things, sharing war stories and future plans. The main topic was bought up by Rob, when he had been talking to some girls who had looked up urban dictionary and the site goes through many random phrase´s that can be translated into sexual moves. (example monkey face)
The following day we were lucky enough to have beach football game organised for us, so 5 from the hostel went down to the beach about 10 mins from Lima and played 5 local lads. The hard fact is that you are at altitude and you lose your breathe very quickly which made it harder, but we are proud to say we won 6-2 with rick and myself being the rocks of the team.
On our way back to the hostel we came across a religious parade with hundreds of peruvians carry monuments and singing and all dressed up, and it made us stand out like a sore thumb, but we were very respectful and took as many pictures as we could, ha ha.
That night we went out in miraflores with the girls and kurt as we were leaving for cusco the next day. We first went for a meal then out to a roof top bar, where i taught amanda how to salsa and where we had some free pisco sours the local drink, then after a bit more drinking and dancing we made our way home for our last night in Lima
The satyurday morning again, started slowly after a heavy nighjt, and we started with a big english breakfast to sort us out, then we packed our bags, checked out but were still able to store our bags at the hostel until 5:00 when our bus was.
We finished Lima by walking around barranco taking a few picutres and relaxing before our 20 hour bus journey to cusco.
After our walk and some lunch we went back to the hostel and started saying our goodbyes, and because we had been there a week and the hostel only holds 50 people, we were like part of the family, so we had a couple of goodbyes to say.
But then called a taxi and ended up telling him and pointing him in the right directions because he was lost, so we got to the cruz del sur bus terminal just in time were we met the girls who had decidied to come to cusco with us and from there boarded the cruzcero bus which was the upgraded bus and for 15 soles more we upgraded ourselves to the seats with more leg room which was one of the best decision we have made, we then began our 20 hours bus journey down through the panamerican highway carving our way through the andes across to cusco.
