Blanca's birthday today! Had such an amazing day. We made 50 packed lunches last night and bought and decorated a cake (see pic) for a picnic at Christ blanco but it rained so went for a party at the boys orphanage, so much fun and dancing! They loved it (so did I!) Things that would never happen back home included... Oh no! I've been struck down with some kind of eye flu! Had to stop my spanish lesson half way through to take my lenses out and my eye keeps watering! The girls and ladies that work at the orphanage were all so sweet and concerned, went to the Market with some of the other volunteers to buy some Harry potter books for blanca, one of the girls who's birthday it is on Friday, came back and made friendship bracelets with the kids (I'm not very good at it!) Had a good weekend. We were so tired after machupicchu! Went put for dinner and few drinks on Saturday and basically chilled out, Spent Monday afternoon doing arts and crafts with the girls which was really fun (see pic) Can't believe I'm over half way through my time in Peru, it's going so fast. Wow. Went to machu picchu today and it was spectacular! Left the hostel in Aguascalientes at 4:30am and made our way to machu picchu, we were so lucky with the weather and visability was excellent. Treked up to the sun gate and back (hard work) and then walked back to Aguascalientes.....I have never walked down so many steps. Train, bus and taxi back to orphanage...legs are killing and so so tired but had a brilliant couple of days. Over and out Han x

Four more volunteers arrived Which is really good as there's quite a few of us now, had good times with the kiddies.....seem to be doing the hokey coley several hundred times a day and playing donde esta Maurice with the sock monkey made by Aunty Vonny, they love him, took the girls to a park with a huge slide and took the boys to another one, more terrifying ...
