Last 2 days in Vegas/last 2 days of entire holiday!!
Have really just pottered about the last couple of days, squeezing in any last bits of sightseeing/shopping/places we wanted to go back to etc!
Went to the South Premium Outlet for a wander - I managed to spend $0 - woohoo!!! Think I lived vicariously through Trish on that one ;o)
Went to see the show ‘Zumanity’ on Sunday night - this is the risqué Cirque Du Soleil show. Pretty much the women were nude (from the waist up!) all the way through the show and the men didn’t have much on either! They broke up the acrobatics and dancing with some risqué comedy and audience participation (thank god we were in the balcony!) which was really funny - I think half the time you’re laughing as you are so glad it’s not you dragged up on to the stage; especially in respect of what was asked of the audience in this show!!
We really wanted to go and see the ‘O’ show that they do - which is based in water - but the tickets were crazy expensive and as this was the last night of the holiday it wasn’t gonna happen ;o)
Today I had to go to Whole Foods just one time - it’s been such a big part of this holiday (not sure what that says about me!!). I got my favourite pasta salad one last time and my favourite sandwich - gonna miss them! Went to the Stratosphere hotel to go to the viewing tower which gives you a great view of the strip and has the rollercoaster etc (not that I’d being going on that if my life depended on it!) but they wanted $24 to get up there - WTF?! So that was a no.
Visited the famous ‘Drive Through’ Little White Wedding Chapel (where Joan Collins got married once - not sure to which number of husband that was to!) - it was sooooo chintzy and tacky and everything you can imagine (and more) but somehow it looked good and we saw a bride and groom after their ceremony heading off in their limo ;o)
Had to go to the Cheesecake Factory one last time (last time I was there was in San Francisco) - a nice red velvet cheesecake to finish the holiday off in style! Trish didn’t even finish half of hers! Mine was delish ;o)
The Cheesecake Factory was in the North Premium Outlets area and as we had visited the South ones the previous day we thought let’s compile the set, so had a wander round there.
Then it was time to head to the airport and return the hire car that I have had for the last 65 days! Holiday over!!!
Thought I’d summarised it as follows:
Well, after:
- 90 days
- 5201 photos taken
- 3877 miles driven
- 64 Cities/Towns visited
- 3 different car hires
- 20 red velvet cupcakes scoffed
- 41 Whole Foods visits (including today - had to be done!)
- About 90 litres of Diet Coke drunk
- 7 fridge magnets & 6 Christmas tree decorations purchased ............
I am finally on my way home!
Home is truly where the Heart is and I am so ready to be there - am looking forward to seeing and catching up with everyone, but have really loved this amazing journey though there have been some tough times being on my own.
Special thanks must go to Trish D Batchelor and Fiona MacPhail for joining me along the way.
Homeward Bound!
