Last couple of days have been good, we had a very good thai for lunch before we headed into the city to sort out Amy's Medicare stuff via the botanic gardens, which on a hot day were lovely. We got some great views over the opera house and Sydney harbour bridge and found our spot for new year, very exciting! They're advertising new year all over the city with the theme of shine so looking forward to seeing how that will be portrayed. I love fireworks so I'm sure it will be a brilliant night! We all grabbed a smoothie as it was too hot for a coffee and wondered around the city for a little bit before heading back to the gardens for a quick relaxation period on the grass, lots of pesky ants though! We went a slightly different way home and walked to the opera house, we walked all the way around the open area and ventured inside to the gift shop and ticket desks, pretty impressive landmark.
After a hot walk home we made up some wraps for tea and settled down to watch home alone.
Today mike left early to babysit for max, his godparents little boy so we walked up and met them at the park a bit later. Grabbed a savoury crepe from the market for lunch and headed back to the house where well be staying from Sunday. Nice house with a real christmas tree! They have a big husky who is gorgeous but looks so hot! She won't be there next week but was good to meet her, max and Max's mum Mandy. Max is a character, very smiley and funny, I managed to keep him entertained during a nappy change and think I made a friend. It was a nice walk back to the hostel, had a bit of a workout and then we cooked burgers in the kitchen. This was a bit stressful though as there's only 1 cooker and lots if residents wanting to cook!
