Today we decided to impulsively visit Byron, about an hour drive in Leroy. We arrived to find the sun and blue skies, found ourself a good car parking spot for 4 hrs and grabbed some lunch and people watched at the Hogs Breath Cafe, the food was pretty good. We walked off our big lunch by wondering around the surf shops in the back streets then headed down for a walk on the beach. Really lovely vibe here and a lovely beach with clear blue waters and the lighthouse and mountains in the background, will definitely be back for some sunbathing! Would be a great spot to do a skydive from so will have to see about that too!
We all booked to go snorkelling on Wednesday at a little island quite far out where apparently there are lots of resident turtles and sting rays so looking forward to that. Jumped back in the car and headed up to the lighthouse which gave us some great views over the beaches and into the water. We saw 3 turtles and 3 big sting rays in the waters bellow so it's looking promising!
