Another holiday first, Henry cooked breakfast. Two boiled eggs each with toasted 'soldiers'.
We arrived at the bus stop at 10.10 just missing the bus to Clovelly (according to the timetable), next one in half an hour. We were then informed by the bus driver we were at the wrong bus stop! So arriving at the right bus stop, once again just missing a bus. To cut a long story short we arrived at Clovelly at 11.30, an hour later than intended.
A two minute walk to Glenn and Lynn's house to change for the beach. We swam and snorkelled for an hour, just enough as the deep water started to feel pretty cold. Back to use the outside shower (every home should have one). We said goodbye to Lynn (she was preparing for work, 8 days flying to Europe and back with Qantas) and Glenn had kindly offered us a lift to his favourite restaurant in Rose Bay. In the process he took us on a detour past Centennial Park (another item on Barbara's to do list). The park is huge, lots of lakes, people horseriding and the usual multitude of joggers.
We said goodbye to Glenn and walked into 'Catalina's' restaurant, somewhat under dressed, carrying our beach bag and wearing very casual clothes. Nevertheless, we were warmly welcomed and the food and atmosphere lived up to our expectations, we both chose local fish and it was absolutely delicious, a fitting celebration to the end of our Australian leg of the trip.
We caught the 15:00 ferry back to Circular Quay and then jumped on a ferry to Manley Beach. Even though It was a windy day we sat and watched a few brave surfers and kite-surfers out at sea trying to make the best of the challenging conditions. Headed home via two ferries to pack ready for a 05.00 am start tomorrow (our check in time for N.Z. Flight was 6.30) and with the intention of writing the 'Sydney blog'. Failed miserably and we were sucked in to watching the video 'Mouse Hunt' that had been left in the flat. Great.
