Woke up to a beautiful sunny day. Nicola decided we were off to the Sunday Market at 'The Rocks'. There were over 100 stalls, selling clothes of every shape and size, jewellery and many other crafts. Nicola bought a bracelet after much deliberation. We left promptly as we were being picked up outside our apartment at midday by Glenn (Auntie Barbara's nephew), who invited us both to Sunday Lunch.
Glenn picked us up in a bright yellow open roof sports car, great transport to be shown Bondi Beach and various other famous local landmarks before finally arriving at their home by Clovelly Beach.
They live literally 5 doors up from the beach and Lynn tries to swim there most days, weather permitting. It is a lovely secluded beach, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
Their home was like a holiday home (this was intentional, advice from an architect friend), with some stunning items from Bali and even an outdoor shower. Overall a great house to relax in.
Sunday lunch was delicious roast beef with salad, lots of wine of various hues and mango and yoghurt for pud.
Glenn is currently training to be a local surf lifeguard and had been invited to drinks at the Surf Club for the first time between 16:00 and 19:00. Eager to be there we all trooped down following lunch. The clubhouse has the best vista on the beach and we were extremely privileged to be there, especially when Glenn had coveted this for 10 years!
Somehow Glenn and Henry managed to drink 4 pints while Lynn and I enjoyed the view. A very jolly time was had by all with Glenn and Lynn escorting us to catch the last bus home from Clovelly.
The bus dropped us off 30 minutes later in the town centre right outside 'David Jones' department store with it's fabulous Christmas window display (another few ticks off Barbara's 'must do' list).
