A lovely day for the drive to Kutaisi. Lunch in the square before a drive to the Prometheus Caves. Found after the 1985 earthquake by the usual method. A dog fell in it. Quite well done with only muted lighting, about1.4k ending with a boat ride of about 400m. Then back to Kutaisi and the home stay up on the hill near the Bagrati cathedral. Pauline and I wandered up. Nearly rebuilt after centuries of ruin, but with a strange modern addition. There is an interesting collection of icons with matching relics (eg femur and humerus bones- not funny? ). Surrounding walls must have been fantastic but of course are ruins.
