What a great day. Started out cool on the mountain and on the drive to Vallo to catch the train. Sonia and Mili waited with me to see me off on the train to Naples, a very comfortable trip and on time! Arrived Napoli Centrale station and stepped out to get a taxi to the airport. What a ride, crazy driving and as he had plastic covers on the seats I was sliding across the back seat. We arrived at the airport after a 15 minute ride as follows:- constant blowing on the horn, weaving in and out of traffic often in the incoming lane, a crazy bumpy ride over windy cobbled roads, and I arrived laughing, it was so crazy. Got to the airport in Naples, very clean and nice. Half an hour delay ended up being 45 minutes delay, as I had paid 8 euros for speedy boarding and a seat up front I was first on and first off. Worth the cost when I looked back at the line of people queuing. Good flight to Paris and the driver was waiting for me. Drive to hotel much more sedate than Naples. Really lovely hotel in nice area, everything spotless and lovely room. I walked to the Eiffel Tower, just a 15 minute walk from my hotel. It is magnificent, and the sky was stunning. I walked back and decided on dinner at a bistro near the hotel. Excellent service and the food was wonderful, duck breast with sautéed vegetables and a beautiful sauce, and the bread - OMG, it is unbelievable. Accompanied by a half bottle of Cotes du Rhone, heavenly. Walked back to the hotel and a quiet night. What a wonderful day.
