Arrived on the evening of the 12th and left here midday on the 14th.

We were allocated a cabin at this campground with just the two of us which was a nice change (showering only two girls in the morning is sooo much easier than four, especially when the other two don't speak English).
Had a delicious top deck dinner with the random of brioche, salad with lots of olive oil, Tomatoy chicken rice rissoto, accompanied by italian wine and topped of with tiramisu.
I. Love. Italian. Food.
Yum.

Next morning we had our walking tour led by our birthday girl/tour guide Emily. There was the added challenge of not being caught by the roman police who insist that tour guides of Rome be italian only. We had it Sussed though, to distract them if they came over to our group while Emily was filling us in on the history of our sites we sung her happy birthday. Brilliant. Not obvious at all.

Started the tour at the Spanish stairs, went by the pantheon, the awesome fountain that you always see in movies and throw money into, colosseum, and I can't even remember what else. Gain ticked all the top destinations on our map.
After walking for about 5kms we were parched as and very keen for a traditional long italian lunch so we did. Not far from the colosseum. Couldn't decide so shared a margarita pizza between us girls, had carbonara, and shared a bottle of amazing Italian wine.
Soaked up the atmosphere and view of all the old ruins before tackling the metro system to the main shopping area.
Join the crazy queues to try on clothes and experienced our delicious gelatos. Om nom limoncello.
warily wondered back to the metro then found our bus along with the boys who had left us at the beginning of our shopping adventures and had struggled to find their way back. Poor things.
Got back and had a swim in the pool before grabbing some italian macas which was extremely loud, full of kids who should have been in bed.
We then traipsed out extremely wary legs back home as slept up a storm oh to wake early early for the Vatican tour.
